R.P. Filsinger, an east coast native, was in California getting her bachelor’s degree in film and photography where she explored many medias. After much traveling, the experiences really started to influence her work, written and visual.

She combined all her passions into one force with solo stop motion animations, learning that you must be a fine technical work smith, excellent communicator and a very focused artist to see a production through to the end. Currently she resides in the Brooklyn creating eccentricities, documenting life, and, of course, hustling the Manhattan dollar.

Sometimes there are people you come across that are able to view certain situations a bit differently then you would, and sometimes these people happen to walk around with a camera. Brandon Fonville is one such of those people. Brandon spends his time wandering obscure city streets to document Brooklyn’s subtle decrepitness. Also, he is working on a print zine released through Bluetan collective. Following is a sample of some current work.

Pixel Pornographers

The following videos are recordings from a performance by the Pixel Pornographers. This very digital work could slide into the definition of New Media Art. Using custom built software, they are able to improvise the manipulation of sound and video independently, sometimes leading with the video and other times with the sound. The artists base the work off of repetition, tension and release. The work shown here is a repurpose of the 70’s sci-fi film Logan’s Run.

Mark Herschede

Here I am able to present someone who at such a young age, has already been able to positively impact others and their work. His attitude towards print making is simply infectious. There is an evident dedication in his work to the craft as well as the concept.

Mark’s current series is called Loops. “I utilize the conventions of chaos and order as catalysts, my medium as ether, and my process as a container…I am a pluralist and a soloist, a dichotomy seeking to write a haiku about states of being. These paintings are about death as much as birth. There is an end at the beginning and renewal at that end. The paintings are as important as I am now because they have themselves become questions and answers. I liken them to a loop.”
